Finally, after several years of trying to get back to the Thousand Islands we are heading out today!
We have two weeks off, the boat is ready (mostly, good enough), we have someone staying home watching the dog and Lori is bouncing around home getting final things ready, whistling and giggling.
The last few years have been tough, with our plans being cancelled or changed at the last minute for various reasons. We were anxious, there were clouds looming over our plans this year again. But it looks like it is actually going to work out this year!
One last project being completed at the last possible moment, our solar panel is being installed today. The MPPT solar charge controller is already installed and tested. Should be done by noon! Fingers crossed!
Plan is to head East, outside passage to Waupoos, then Kingston, to the Thousand Islands and then we’ll just see where we feel like going. If you are in the area, and feel like chatting, hail us on channel 16. Or look for the sailboat with the two very happy people on it! I’ll try to post light updates here as we go.

First night Navy Bay. Tonight Kerr Bay with a severe Thunderstorm watch. We anchored close to the windmills since they are much taller than us!
So far trip has discovered a few new things that now need to be fixed. 3.5 knot sail yesterday then a bunch of motoring. Today a great 6.5 to 8 knot sail.

Kerr Bay to Huckleberry. Lots of SW wind and we made it in 3.5 hours. Now just hanging out, taking a break, lots of swimming, relaxing, reading and enjoying the views!

Took wandering channel to our next anchorage and spent the night closely anchored with a few other boats. One let out more anchor rode than the others and was swinging uncomfortably close.
In the morning, pulled anchor and saw a CS36T, Silk Purse, come in for the night. Headed into Gananoque Marina, over $120, to stay overnight with pump out!

Hanging out between Collier and Ninette Island. Treated to a really good live band playing on a balcony overlooking the water!
Wind picking up again. Probably will head West tomorrow.

Hiding out from the wind on the North side of Sugar Island. Great to be back in this area, lots of great memories.

We are back from the Thousand Islands and now in our home port, safe and sound. A few scary adventures in the storm last weekend. Now working on getting solar arch completed so not much free time. I have 100s of pictures and lots of great stories to share. Will slowly start publishing them as I find time!
